Hand-made with love! (What goes into that wrap?)
Each Bombus beewrap in your kitchen is a fine piece of art, hand-made with love and sent across to the conscious ‘you’ taking a small step towards a big change!
The journey begins with sourcing the finest GOTS certified cotton from factories near Delhi and bringing them alive with the beautiful Bombus designs.
Next, we use fresh golden-brown beeswax sourced from local bee hives in Punjab and Maharashtra states of India. The beekeepers are our special friends. To support them, a 1% of all sales is shared with the local beekeepers in order to promote conservative beekeeping.
We then add pine resins brought, all the way from Himalayas in chunks, before finely grinding them in our very own Bombus kitchen. And it doesn’t stop there. We bring home the Jojoba from the state of Rajasthan up north. This is then hand churned by our women at Bombus before adding the oil to the mixture. This is exactly how the sticky texture of the wrap keeps your bowls and fruits sealed and tightly secured.

The roots of the many diverse prints of your wrap are deeply Indian and inspired by travel in deep corners of the country. Some of them also name the herbs you should be growing to increase and preserve the beautiful bee population of the world.
All this comes together to form the genius piece of craft that the beeswax wrap in your hand is. Each piece is dipped, brushed with wax and cut into pieces all by hand which makes Bombus an entirely handmade marvel. Every piece has at least 3-4 women who’ve worked on the piece from start to end making it a women-exclusive product. Bombus employs and empowers several women from different parts of this country who come from the financially impaired section of the society and supports them to be financially independent.
Several women like Shiela come together each day to bring together the making of Bombus and be a part of the journey from the beehives to your kitchens, handmade-with love!
